Reserves 3-0 West Brom

A strong Arsenal reserve side comfortably beat West Brom 3-0 at Underhill on Wednesday night.

Goals from Ju Yung Park, Serge Gnabry and Chuks Aneke secured Arsenal’s second string side a fifth successive league win.

Neil Banfield named an experienced team with Johan Djourou, Andre Santos and Marouane Chamakh all starting and it was the latter’s strike partner who opened the scoring.

Park collected the ball from Oguzhan Ozyakup on 17 minutes and cut inside the defence before beating the Baggies ‘keeper with a left footed strike.

The visitors almost levelled instantly but Liam O’Neil’s shot was well saved by Damian Martinez.

Gnabry made it two just before the break converting from close range following good work from Chamakh and the Gunners went in at half time firmly on their way to five wins from five.

The win was secured just after the interval when Aneke curled home a superb strike in to the far corner to secure another good result for Banfield’s men.

Arsenal could have added more gloss to the scoreline with Aneke, Gnabry and Jenkinson going close but it was only to be three.
