Well, after two very different recent home games, a third in the space of two weeks appears to be unpredictable.
How we managed to beat Man City and lose to Wigan remains beyond me, but in a weird way this is why I love Arsenal, some may disagree, but I love the fact you never know what you are going to get.
Chelsea like us, have been in great form since January, they were at one stage in a crisis, but now find themselves in an FA Cup Final and Champions League semi, some crisis I would love to have at Arsenal.
Chelsea’s midweek win over Barca brings both positives and negatives for us, they are likely to rest a few big names, but also if they do win the European Cup, we have to finish third to gain a Champions League spot.
Amid the horror which was our defeat on Monday we lost Mikel Arteta through injury, meaning Aaron Ramsey will probably start against the side from Stamford Bridge especially with Yossi Benayoun being eligible to face his parent club.
However there is good news among the defensive ranks with Laurent Koscielny returning from a ban and also Abou Diaby and Francis Coquelin are also available again.
After the final whistle is blown in our game today, Tottenham and Newcastle will have two games in hand on us, and if we were to lose today, they would be five points behind. Disaster!
This is a game we cannot afford to lose, despite the fact we lost to Wigan on Monday and Chelsea beat Barcelona we are favourites.
I would not be too gutted with a draw today, but a win would mean the race for third remains in our hands, and this is surely our hardest fixture left, people will say Stoke away but Chelsea is a much more difficult proposition.
My team for today would be Szczesny; Sagna, Koscielny, Vermaelen, Santos, Ramsey, Song, Rosicky, Walcott, RVP, Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Enjoy the game,
