Jack on course for Cup final return

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has given the strongest indication yet that England midfielder, Jack Wilshere will play again this season, and is also likely to be on the plane to Brazil.

The 22-year old has been out of action since sustaining a foot injury after a collision with Liverpool’s Daniel Agger in an international friendly with Denmark on March 5 at Wembley.

Wilshere has started running again and Arsene Wenger believes the Arsenal no10 will return for the gunners’ last couple of games, the second an FA Cup final at the same stadium he suffered the hairline fracture to his left foot.

“Jack is close. I’d think two or three weeks – hopefully, he could be back for our last two matches.

“I think he will be selected for the England squad. Jack can be the positive surprise in Brazil. England have very difficult matches and if you come out of a group like that, the belief is going to be very strong.

“Jack has been in and out this year but I think they have sorted out the problem.”

The news will come as a welcome boost to the gunners, who will want every key player fit to help them end a nine year trophy drought next month.

Wilshere is also set to make the trip to Brazil and Roy Hodgson will be hoping the midfielder can add the drive his side needs to have a successful World Cup outing, this summer.

Wilshere has scored five goals and has as many assists in 37 appearances for Arsenal and England this season.
