Can Arsenal Bounce Back At The Bridge? Matchweek 2 PL Predictions

After a dismal opening day defeat, Arsenal travel to Stamford Bridge in a game no side will take lightly, Ross and I predict the outcomes of the 10 games this week.


Cardiff v Newcastle

Ross: Cardiff will be up for it considering it’s their first home game of the season. However I think Newcastle will be too much for their defence. 0-2.

Alex: Cardiff didn’t add too much to their squad in the window but I watched Newcastle at home to Sp*rs last week and I struggle to see where their goals are going to come from. 1-1.


Everton v Southampton 

Ross: Everton look strong this season, and Southampton didn’t look too comfortable in their first game. 3-1.

Alex: Everton have really strengthened well and Southampton’s decision to give Mark Hughes a new contract is baffling. 2-0.


Leicester v Wolves

Ross: Newly-promoted Wolves look like a very strong side. With Leicester without Mahrez, I don’t see them doing too well. However, I think it’ll be 1-1.

Alex: Wolves were lucky to draw v Everton and that could be a harsh wake-up call but I think it’ll be a draw. 1-1.


T*ttenham v Fulham

Ross: Although I hate to say it, I think this’ll be a very straightforward win for Sp*rs, despite the Fulham signings, they haven’t had enough time to gel. 3-1.

Alex: T*ttenham’s new stadium isn’t ready and it’s fucking funny. They’ll win here though, against a Fulham side who badly need some cohesion. 3-0.


West Ham v Bournemouth 

Ross: West Ham have made some excellent summer signings whereas Bournemouth haven’t been as busy, that’ll give the Hammers the edge. 1-0.

Alex: West Ham were awful at Anfield last week and badly need a reaction in their first home game, and I think they’ll get it. 2-0.


Chelski v Arsenal

Ross: Arsenal have had the better over Chelsea in recent meetings and both teams look strong under their respective new managers. The Gunners season starts here. 1-2.


Alex: Arsenal were outplayed and outclassed last week so a reaction is so important here, will they get it? Chelsea look good under Sarri so I think they’ll win. 2-1.


Burnley v Watford

Ross: With Watford getting off to a good start, most would tip them favourities. Burnley looked good in their first game yet have had many fixtures due to the Europa League. I can only see this being a draw. 0-0.


Alex: Burnley were unlucky not to win at St Mary’s last week but I think they’ll suffer this season due to European commitments. 1-1.


Manchester City v Huddersfield

Ross: The Champions got off to a great start by beating Arsenal last week. I can only see their form improving as well. I believe it’ll be a thrashing, 5-1.


Alex: City were scintillating as they beat Arsenal last week whilst Huddersfield were hapless v Chelsea, another big win on the cards here for me. 3-0.


Brighton v Manchester United

Ross: Brighton won this fixture last season but I don’t think they’ll repeat it this season, United look strong and will win. 0-2.


Alex: Brighton have made some good signings but need to improve tactically if they are to better last year’s exploits. I think they’ll get a result here though. 1-1.


Crystal Palace v Liverpool

Ross: The Eagles haven’t strengthened too much over the summer, which could be a problem facing Liverpool. There’s no stopping this Liverpool front four though. 1-3.


Alex: Liverpool picked up where they left off last season and thumped West Ham last time out. Palace earned a good win over Fulham and this could be an intriguing game. 1-3.
