Arsenal come close to signing Brazilian Wonder Kid – Interview with @arsenal_brasil
Arsenal were reported to be on the verge of a major signing from Flamengo, as reported in the Sun by Sam Morgan. The story is around two weeks old and it looks as if Edu’s role at the club as Technical Director was behind this footballing near transfer coup. Even though Real Madrid eventually took Reinier if Arteta’s Arsenal succeeded in singing him it might have been similar to Cesc Fabregas who was signed in different circumstances but by Arsene Wenger under the noses of Barcelona. While some fans might be frustrated by the recent news, the club did not sign this promising player, the revelations can still be taken positively because this action shows manager Arteta’s plans to structure the team with a Brazilian influence of youth and flair.
Arsenal came very close to signing a new Brazilian wonder kid and after speaking to Alcysio Canette From the Arsenal Brail supporters Club. The club was founded and recognized by Arsenal over ten years ago and has helped hundreds of Brazilian Goners’ to fulfil their dream of watching the Arsenal play live. Aloysius said: “Reinier is a sort of an Aaron Ramsey-type player, an advanced midfielder with a taste for making runs into the box and getting on the scoresheet. His game is far from rounded though. He couldn’t really play out wide and, on his defensive side, he surely has the discipline to press according to his Manager’s instructions, but when attempting to defend in a low block he usually switched off and waited for the counter-attack to be on, so there needs to be some improvement.”
“It should be noted that games in Brazil are much less intense and that lack of defensive awareness was never really explored to a point it could have become an issue. He is a talented player, but still quite raw to run a midfield such as ours.”
As I’m sat watching Olympiakos vs Arsenal it is easy to see where Reinier would fit in as this so-called Ramsey – like player or a team member of this midfielder’s ilk. Arsenal have lacked a box to box midfielder to keep on a long-term contract and it will be interesting to see how the Gunners enter the transfer market over the summer.
Alcysio who commented about Reineir above, said: “Martinelli has caught the eye of Brazilian media and a fair few fans for his performances this season. Even in a country where exciting attacking talent pops up quite often, his natural finishing skills make Martinelli quite different from what one would expect a Young wide player to be. Usually, finishing comes up much later in those type of players, such as real Madrid’s Vinicius Jr, Grêmio’s Everton or even Everton’s Richarlison.”
“There is already some worry from the press that should Brazilian coach, Tite, keep him out of his call ups for much longer, he could opt for Italy as his national team, which would be quite a blow to CBF, Confederação Brasileira de Futebol (CBF) who has already passed on players such as Diego Costa and Thiago Alcantara not too long a go.”
Might we see Brazil present, Richarlison v Brazil future, Martinelli, tomorrow?
