HEADLIGHT

Paul Hepker: Declan Rice curveball impossibly finding side-netting from 50 yards.

Dave Seager: Further evidence, if any were needed, that this group of players have a never say die spirit. An unwillingness to be beaten, which is a powerful trait to have.

Steve Wellman: Never say die attitude to come back from 2-0 down.

Nigel Evans: The team showing the character to come back from 2-0 down.

Dwayne Bingham: Game changers on the bench, things were not going our way on the pitch. All luck and fortune seemed to be going the way of Chelsea but Arteta was able to call on his subs to make a positive impact when things weren’t working. We looked good for getting a winner but for the ref awarding a couple soft free kicks when we were on the break.

LOWLIGHT

Paul Hepker: Raya with another decidedly average performance.

Dave Seager: Raya needs to be rested, dropped or taken out of the spotlight. Call it what you will but Sevilla is the perfect opportunity to give Ramsdale the gloves as our cup keeper. Then it’s up to Aaron.

Steve Wellman: The first half performance that required the need for the never say die attitude.

Nigel Evans: The first half performance.

Dwayne Bingham: Gabriel Jesus getting taken out by the keeper and not a single action was taken. Given the fact the Onana challenge v Wolves was highlighted as an error by PGMOL – which VAR should have awarded an offence. Sanchez flew out into a crowded area, recklessly and out of control and didn’t connect with anything but the players in his way. A keeper should challenge unimpeded but not bulldoze all before him. We shouldn’t have to wait for a player to be seriously injured before seeing it as a problem.

HEADLIGHT

Paul Hepker: Going to Sevilla with reasonable expectations… a pragmatic approach to Europe would be prudent.

Dave Seager: ESR is moving up the stand-in pecking order. He needs to grab one of these extended run outs very soon.

Steve Wellman: Hopefully, on a ‘cold’ Tuesday night in Seville, Rambo gets the gloves and a chance to reclaim top spot.

Nigel Evans: A much improved performance from our game in Lens.

Dwayne Bingham: The games are  coming thick and fast, rotation is key. Legs and fatigue need to be managed. Partey didn’t play any minutes on Saturday, hopefully he can be utilised in coming weeks.
