The Surprise of the Season I was listening to Craig Burley on ESPN before the game. He was upsetting me. Not because he thought Liverpool would win but because he thought that Arsenal couldn’t compete this coming season. Then I paused and realized that the vast majority of Arsenal fans don’t believe we […]
The 3 year plan As ever, there has been a small bucketful of Arsenal news and rumours every day this summer. By far the most interesting and insightful piece of Arsenal news has been washed over. I think it’s the core of Mikel Arteta’s plan. Five days ago a journalist asked Willian what persuaded him […]
14 for Fourteen POSITIVES, NEEDS and HOPES Perhaps there is no bigger compliment to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang than Arsenal winning the FA Cup off the back of two huge TEAM performances where all the players take huge credit yet one man STILL stands out! That’s some feat! Each player will get credit (below) as they should […]
Can we sign Trust? I don’t trust Arsenal. I don’t think I have for over 10 years. My son and I get comfortable and excited on the couch. Out Arsenal run. My son looks at me. He does it every game. It’s a mix of fear and adrenaline I see in his face. He’s only […]
The 90 minute commercial Sometimes I wonder why Coca Cola bother with advertising. Where I live many people call any fizzy drink ‘a Coke.’ That’s when you know you’ve got a successful product, right? Nine years coming POSITIVES, NEEDS and HOPES February 2011, I was truly impressed. Barcelona were peak. We were good but they were arguably the best team of all time. I always prefer to feel my football with my heart and the last time I was so impressed was this Barcelona game. We’ve won bigger […]
So that’s what it’s like to be Norwich POSITIVES, NEEDS and HOPES I was convinced as a kid that my Dad wanted me to support Norwich. We went to Norwich every summer for a family holiday. Every summer. My Dad took us to the castle every year too. Why every year? A kid […]
Polish the rocks to buy the diamonds POSITIVES, NEEDS and HOPES Many years ago I was in Memphis sitting in a restaurant late at night. I was chatting with a local man who was imparting one pearl of wisdom after another. As is life, we only remember the odd thing here and there. For some […]
#POSITIVES, NEEDS AND HOPES! I saw the sea again POSITIVES, NEEDS and HOPES Once a year my wife and I enjoy a short trip. We miss our children but revel in the few days of no responsibilities. We go to the beach. I don’t like sunbathing like she does. I just sit and look at […]
Perception protection POSITIVES, NEEDS and HOPES If you read my last post you’ll know I talked about the different ways to win. I felt that Arteta won the Southampton game tactically. This didn’t surprise me as I see this as a strength. It will happen again. Yesterday, was very surprising. In a way I’m not […]
