Bunny buzzing, bunny died POSITIVES, NEEDS and HOPES This post should be sponsored by Duracell or they should at least be giving me some money for that title. You can keep reading. I’m not gonna talk about bunnies. The ridiculous analogy speaks to the common difference in what is looking like an ever improving team […]
It would be impossible to label Arsenal’s performance at Everton as anything other than ‘limp’ and that might be considered generous. Whilst much of the Arsenal fanbase might lay the blame for the team’s lack ambition, particularly when his team takes the lead, at Mikel Arteta’s door, there is no evidence the Spaniard is […]
The Dummy Revelation POSITIVES, NEEDS and HOPES The loudest I got watching yesterday’s game wasn’t actually Odegaard’s goal. It wasn’t Godfrey trying to implant his studs into Tomi’s face either. It was the 97th minute. It wasn’t Auba’s miss either. It was a raw reaction to the dummy that set up Auba’s miss. I’d spent […]
Nothing better than a convincing win to heal the wounds of a heavy loss.Arsenal bounced back from the defeat suffered in Barcelona with a three-nil win against Everton, at Meadow Park, and recorded their fifth straight win in the league. We’re now the only team to win every single game so far and we are […]
The Initiative Issue POSITIVES, NEEDS and HOPES I think that Mikel Arteta’s greatest success since becoming coach/manager has been defensive intensity and organization. If he were not to remain as coach in the long term I think he has solved arguably the most important need that the club had on the field in 15 years. […]
COACHES vs FANS Positives, Needs and Hopes Part of me wondered if I was reaching a little with this thought. After dialing back the emotion of watching Arsenal trying to attack, I realized that these thoughts have validity….. Fans want defensive solidity and Arsenal fans would sacrifice their Granny for it. When it shows up […]
I wrote a blog after the last time Everton beat us at Goodison and I said that they deserved to win because they outhought, outfought and generally wanted the result more than us. I sat down with my son to watch the match and I could not beileve that Emery had selected Elneny and Guendouzi […]
‘The Absent Solution’ POSITIVES, NEEDS and HOPES I made a prediction back in December that we would fall short this season. I’m not in the slightest bit interested in being right. My thought was based on one big missing link. Arsenal lack ‘individual brilliance’ on the dribble. We are very capable of collective brilliance (last […]
Everton vs. Arsenal – Premier League Preview We travel up to Goodison Park, and face off with the Toffeemen on Sunday. Everton’s form has improved over the past few weeks, with some wins against Chelsea and a strong victory over West Ham to boot. Everton is a traditionally great club in English […]
Paul Merson is without a doubt an Arsenal legend. He was part of the mid-80s crop of Keown, Adams, the late, great Rocky Rocastle, Thomas, Quinn, etc. who were part of the core of the 1989/1991 title-winning teams. He also had the guile which possibly made our “boring” tag of this period unfair. […]
