In the news today:
Scott Parker would be the ‘ideal signing’ for the club according to Arsenal legend, Ray Parlour. Talking to TalkSport, Parlour said: “Scott Parker is going at West Ham, bring him in, he’d be excellent just in front of the back four and there’s an opportunity to get him.”
The former Charlton, Chelsea and Newcastle player was named PFA Player of the Year last season, despite relegation with his current club, West Ham. He is thought to be looking to join a Premiership club to maintain his international future.
Last week, north London rivals Tottenham ruled themselves out of the race to sign the 30 year old because of his £60,000 wage demands and the fact he would hold little resale value after any potential 3/4 year deal.
Wenger, however, is still keen to bolster his youthful midfield, and with Fabregas’ pending transfer, Parker could well provide the replacement.
Pathetic.
If Arsenal needs someone as mediocre as Scott Parker, then I will stop supporting Arsenal altogether. If we need players from Mid table sitters [SParker, JBarton, Jagleika etc] to actually help us win, then we should all switch sides and start any of those boring teams playing “hoof balls” such as Birmingham or Everton or Aston Villa.
We are the Arsenal. We need to have more class than that.
Parlour was a good player but his opinions on Arsenal are a joke to be honest.
