Arsene Wenger has always been known for not investing in his squad with big names, but now the current season is yet to end and already Arsenal have seemingly secured the capture of two big name players.
Yann M’Vila and Lukas Podolski look like they’re on their way to the Emirates and after another season without silverware there is a sense of optimism around Arsenal.
It feels like an eternity since Patrick Vieira lifted the FA Cup at the Millennium Stadium and ever since Wenger has come under criticism for his lack of spending, but finally it seems he has given in and money will be splashed out.
M’Vila will be joining from Rennes for nearly £18 million and Podolski from FC Koln for an undisclosed fee expected to be less than that paid for M’Vila.
In previous years Wenger has used the transfer window to buy unknown players, some have worked, and others have not.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been a ravishing success whereas players like Aaron Ramsey, have not.
I will expect Ramsey to be given the boot in the summer for he has been awful since the turn of the year, and his performances have constantly been poor and M’Vila will be a much better fit.
With the possible addition of Clint Dempsey from Fulham next season promises to be the best for years.
Bringing in these three and ditching the garbage that is the likes of Ramsey and Arshavin gives me real belief that we are one defender short of challenging for the title.

Your an idoit, Ramsey will not be given the boot, what you forget is this is a guy who has come back from a broken leg just last season. He is still getting back to his best and at his best he is on pair with Jack Wilsher. Secondly Podolski coast around the £10 million mark. I read this articales and sometimes wounder where do you guys get your information from, it seems to me all you do is reblog from other sites whilst distorting facts and fingers and hoping to create hype of nothing!
I agree with the comment able. £10 mil podolski. Wenger clearly rates Ramsey as he keeps playing him every game! Not great facts here, perhaps a revision is in order.
we have to give Ramsey one more season, if the there is no improvement the we should look to sell
What a clown! The Ox will no doubt be a success in the future but if he had to carry Arsenal for the first half of the season, like Ramsey did, we would be in a right state now. With or without Vila– the Arsenal midfield future is very rosy and both of them will be playing a big part for many years to come.
Fair enough guys each to their own opinion all Mark has done is express his. If anyone wants to write a blog or such send me one to [email protected]
Before you go around booting people from arsenal remember Ramsey is just 21. Remember walcott at 21? song at 21? I just wish arsenal fans were a little less fickle. Take chelsea for example… stuck by torres throughout his goal drought. Ramsey will make you all eat your words just wait and watch

If you go off that basis then surely we should not sell any player until he's 22?
@ Mike smart ass Cox….get the point…players take time to mature and I guess wenger has been pretty good at unearthing talent though I agree he's not been good at keeping them at arsenal
