Gabon forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has stated that £10 million be enough to peel him away from current club St Etienne.
The striker, who is 23 years old and who has 16 goals in 23 games this term, has been attracting interest from across Europe recently, with Fiorentina, PSG and Borussia Dortmund cited by Talksport as potential suitors.
Aubameyang’s message is thought to have alerted serious attention from Arsenal and Newcastle in England, and Talksport appears to suggest that the message was put out by the striker for the benefit of the two English clubs.
A move to either would hardly be surprising as Newcastle have turned themselves into a mini French outfit, with a degree of success, while Arsene Wenger has a history of plucking aspiring young players from Ligue 1.
Aubameyang, who made one under 21 appearance for France where he was born, before opting for Gabon, would add pace and power to any team that plumps for him.
The 23-year-old said: “If people are talking about me then I am not aware of it. But if someone offers €12million to the club I do not know if I’ll go or not. I am calm because I still have two years on my contract to go.”
