FC Basel have more than caught the eye in recent years, given their Europa League exploits this term where they knocked out Spurs en route to their current semi final place and last years Champions League knock out stage appearance which involved them knocking out Manchester United.
With that in mind it was only inevitable that this summer was going to see vast interest in their stars and The Metro are reporting that their exploits have not gone unnoticed byArsenal, with the Gunners believed to be keen on defender Aleksandar Dragovic.
Arsene Wenger will be keen to add more fight in to his backline in the form of the 22 year old, particularly given that the future of Thomas Vermaelen remains uncertain as the summer sales prepare for opening.
Adding extra bite in the form of Dragovic though is going to be not without problems given that the likes of Dortmund and AC Milan are also keen on flying him into their clubs, given the Gunners transfer history in regards to securing players being chased by a vast number of clubs you wouldn’t exactly make them favourites for his signature. As for Basel this could prove to an incredibly tough window and they would be best advised to get that door locked down and turn the lights off as soon as possible for they could be inundated with offers for their come summer time.
