Hi, welcome to my new regular weekly blog on the football betting odds for the weekends forthcoming games.
My name is Andy Wood those of you that follow me on Twitter will know me better as @yorkshiregunner . If you do follow me on Twitter you will also know I post an Arsenal Bet of The Day before each Arsenal game, if you had taken the advice on the bets so far this season you would currently be in profit by £160 for the season. Even Paddy Power Bookmakers will be proud of this in my humble opinion.
My weekly blog will incorporate mainly Arsenal bets that I think offer decent value and also perhaps a generic football flutter to hopefully bash the bookies.
We’re in the money…….. (hopefully)
Righto lets look at the Arsenal match and see if we can find some winning bets.
Arsenal at 2/5 wont make the average punter a rich man, however considering Queens Park Rangers have been fairly woeful as of late and Arsenal’s recent run of form; if we assume an away win by a few goals at Loftus Road then the odds suddenly start to get a little bit more attractive.
Arsenal – Two goals is 29/10 is a decent price but personally I’d be more tempted by Arsenal to win by four goals or more at 13/2.
A decent bet this season that has produced a few decent winners has been the assist market, Santi Cazorla to provide the first assist of the game is 7/2 . However I prefer the “anytime assist” market as it gives you a live bet throughout the game. I’ve been backing Arsenal’s left-back as they offer very decent value as both Kieran Gibbs & Nacho Monreal like to get forward. I’m tempted to think Gibbs will start ahead of Monreal, and the odds of an anytime assist by Gibbs are 13/2. If you think Bacary Sagna will, for once, manage to cross a ball to an Arsenal player, then the odds on a Sagna anytime assist are 8-1.
If it’s a goal market that you are after, maybe you think Theo Walcott will enjoy himself against QPR, and if so his odds are the following.
Theo 1st Goal 4/1
Theo Last Goal 4/1
Theo Anytime Goal 11/10
Theo to score 2 or more goals 5/1
Theo Hat-trick is 20/1
Theo to end up with the match ball? That’s a 20/1 shot.
If it’s longer odds you fancy how about combing Theo 1st Goal & Arsenal 4-0 which is 45/1, or a Theo 1st Goal & Arsenal 5-0 which pays 100-1.
This weeks Tenner Bet then is split into two parts
£5 Arsenal to Win by four Goals or more at 13/2
£5 Theo Hattrick @ 20/1
As part of the weekly blog I will also post a long-odds bet.
Time to try and make some real ££££
Lets try a four-man anytime assist accumulator:
Santi Cazorla, Juan Mata, Steven Gerrard, Matt Jarvis (West Ham United) pays 273-1
So if you place £10 on the above acca you will win £2,730
That’s all for my first blog and, as usual, feel free to post comments or have a chat via twitter ( @yorkshiregunner ).
Remember only bet what you can afford to lose and never chase your losses!

Born in Mining Town of Doncaster in 1973. Supported Arsenal FC thanks to my first footballing hero who was Pat Jennings whom I loved. My first Arsenal Game was an away game at Grimsby Town in January 1986 ( 4-3 win thanks to a Charlie Nicholas Hat-Trick of Free-kicks). I’ve since followed The Arsenal Home, Away & Abroad and my wife still doesn’t know how much I paid for the CL final ticket v Barca!
My All-time Fave’ Arsenal player is probably Dennis Bergkamp although I have soft spots for Tony Adams, Rocky & Steve Williams (!).
I`m a Proud Father of 6 who doesn’t get to as many games as I’d like for financial reasons (6 kids, you do the maths) but lives and breathes The Arsenal.
I write occasional blogs.
