Welcome to
another blog where I try to help you make some cash and beat those nasty bookies!
Last week’s column did highlight a Theo Walcott 1st Goal & also
Last Goal. So I am claiming a moral victory there.
The Tenner
Bet however was a mile off (Arsenal to win by four goals or more and a Theo Hattrick
) although to be fair Theo did hit the post and went close a couple of times. There’s
no point in crying over spilt milk and bookies are full of people saying how close
they were to landing bets so let’s have a look at what offers value this coming
week.
It’s too
early to find any goalscorer odds for The Arsenal game as they don’t play until
Tuesday. But I fancy that Arsenal have one more BIG win in them before the
curtain falls on this season. I really fancy Theo to bag a hattrick as Wigan Athletic
play just three days following the FA Cup Final on Saturday, and their legs
will be very weary and there is no respite for tired players as their squad is
so small. Arsenal on the other hand will have had over a week to rest, prepare
and there can be no excuses about being jaded come full time. Arsene Wenger will
surely get the team fired up for what is the final home game of the season.
So my early Arsenal Tips are-
Theo
Hat-Trick
Arsenal 4-0
Kieran Gibbs
Anytime Assist-
This week’s BookieBasher Long-Odds Bet is as
follows-
An Anytime
Goalscorer Accumulator with five players
Christian Benteke,
Robin van Persie, Daniel Sturridge, Yaya Toure & Romelu Lukaku to all score
pays just over 66-1 so a £5 bet pays £336.71
As its cup
final day, I’ll pick out a few bets for that game too.
A standout
statistic is that no player has scored an FA Cup Final hattrick since Stan
Mortensen in the famous “Stanley Mathews” final of 1953. Sergio Aguero and
Carlos Tevez are both 16-1 shots for a treble, whereas Yaya Toure is 40-1. If
you fancy a Wigan player to grab three then Arouna Kone is 100-1 and others are
over 125-1 who play for the Latics.
Manchester
City are odds-on favourites but we must be due a cup final upset like Coventry City
against a certain other team in North London all those years ago. If you think
Wigan will win in a 3-2 thriller then you can get 66-1 on that.
City will
surely have too much for Wigan though, so they are with a -2 handicap are 5/2
for a handsome victory.
Good luck
with your bets and remember to only bet what you can afford to lose.
Andy Wood
Born in Mining Town of Doncaster in 1973. Supported Arsenal FC thanks to my first footballing hero who was Pat Jennings whom I loved. My first Arsenal Game was an away game at Grimsby Town in January 1986 ( 4-3 win thanks to a Charlie Nicholas Hat-Trick of Free-kicks). I’ve since followed The Arsenal Home, Away & Abroad and my wife still doesn’t know how much I paid for the CL final ticket v Barca!
My All-time Fave’ Arsenal player is probably Dennis Bergkamp although I have soft spots for Tony Adams, Rocky & Steve Williams (!).
I`m a Proud Father of 6 who doesn’t get to as many games as I’d like for financial reasons (6 kids, you do the maths) but lives and breathes The Arsenal.
I write occasional blogs.
