Rambo rewarded for Arsenal improvement

We’re
on the final leg of the Gunners Town Awards where we reveal the winners of last
week’s revealed awards as chosen by you over the past week. The team gave to
you their nominations and the reasons why their views are justifiable and you
have come back to us with your response to that, so thanks again for getting
involved.

Today we crown the Most Improved Player of the Season award
and this was even more one-sided than Monday’s accolade. The Gunners Town
writers voted for Aaron Ramsey almost across the entire board, but the likes of
Theo Walcott, Kieran Gibbs and Carl Jenkinson also received deserved and
honourable mentions.

However, 52% of you thought that Rambo was the deserved
winner of this award, as he saw off competition from Laurent Kosicelny in
second and Jenko in third.

 The full results are
below as well as a selection of comments from those who voted.

Yorkie

Laurent (when not playing alongside
Thomas Vermaelen) has matured greatly this season. He spots danger quickly and
is also good for the odd goal. Theo has also blossomed with a renewed
confidence about him.

Kev Mayers

I think most of the players listed have
improved but certain ones due to the partnerships they’ve become involved in
(Per-Kos), others because of the stability provided within the side as. Rambo
though has finally come into his own this season and deserves this accolade.

Adebgite Ismail

Aaron Ramsey has played very good
football this season, but nevertheless, I’d give to the award to Per
Mertesacker.

Ademola JayJay

He has always been a disaster, but
turned out to be indispensable this season. Thumbs up Theo.
