Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger is confident his record signing, Mesut Ozil would have a stellar campaign next season.
The 25-year old has endured a frustrating debut season due to niggling injuries and a slight dip in form earlier in the year, having made the switch to the Emirates from Real Madrid on deadline day of the summer transfer window for £42.5m.
Ozil, who’s set to return from a hamstring injury this weekend, last featured for the Gunners in the 1-1 stalemate at Bayern Munich last summer and his boss, Arsene Wenger believes he will be a pivotal figure for the club next season.
“He has gone through a difficult spell because physically he was not as present as you would expect him,” said the manager. “I can understand the judgement when… you wanted more of him but I think you are right that you see his quality when he is not there.
“He is a quick player and agile. He can get out of tight situations, so sometimes these players get you out of tight situations and open up to do something
interesting behind that. When they are not there, you don’t get out of the situation and you lose the ball.
“That’s what I wish [is that he finishes the season strongly]. He has prepared well and it depends how quickly he will come back into the pace of the game.”
Ozil has already been on target against The Tigers this season, in the 2-0 victory in December and will be hoping for a similar feat on Sunday afternoon to help his side open up a four-point gap over Everton, who host Manchester United shortly after.
