Post WC-Qualifiers: which nation has the best attackers in the Premier League?

Our friends at EA SPORTS have provided us with some fascinating data which compares some of the biggest players from the best represented major nations in the Premier League (Brazil, England, France, Belgium, Spain).

Statistics provided by EA SPORTS provide an interesting showcase of which country possesses the greatest attacking threat in the Premier League. This season there has been a dominance of the aggressive attacking football played by the likes of Manchester City, United and Liverpool. The top four alone have already amassed a total of 69 goals between them, beating the top four total at this point last season (64).

Analysis of the hottest Premier League talent for each nation showcases a new generation of dangerous Brazilian players, with the record number of successful dribbles of any nation this season (54). It also reveals the effectiveness of Spanish players in supplying goal scoring opportunities with the most assists (8) and chances created (64). A potential shock result of the analysis is that English players are by far the most prolific goal scorers in the league so far, with a total of 18 goals between the top five English players, which is well ahead of France, Belgium and Brazil who are all on 11 goals.

Brazil
Recent seasons have witnessed the emergence of Brazilian talent in the Premier League, with world class players like Gabriel Jesus and Coutinho offering moments of footballing genius for their clubs throughout the season. The EA SPORTS statistics reflect this as Brazilian players possess the record number of successful dribbles in the Premier League with a total of 54 successful dribbles between the top five Brazilian players.

Spain
Although Spain failed to make it out of the group stage at the last World Cup, their attacking players are proving to be extremely effective this season, with Spanish player’s holding the record for the most assists this season (8). They are also the leading nation in chances created, offering up a total of 64 chances.

England
Despite a lack of goals in their recent international performances, the English talent in the Premier League have the record number of goals, totalling 18 goals between between the five hottest players so far this season. The top English players are also second only to Brazilian players for the most successful dribbles with 51 recorded in the first seven games.

France
The French international squad is certainly something to fear ahead of the 2018 World Cup and the likes of Anthony Martial and Lacazette have contributed to a total of 11 goals so far this season from the top French players. On the other hand, France have created the lowest number of chances amongst the top nations in the Premier League, as well as only 4 assists (joint lowest with Belgium).

Belgium
The Premier League’s Belgian international squad members also don’t shape up too badly, registering 11 goals amongst their top five players. However, with a total of just 4 assists and 23 successful dribbles, the Belgian Premier League players have not started the season as effectively as their international rivals.
