Last season Arsenal were extremely close to upsetting the odds and finishing ahead of Manchester City and winning the Premier League, but unfortunately it wasn’t to be and they fell just short. After too many years of not competing for that top prize, it was a pleasant surprise for most Arsenal fans to see them come so close. An each-way bet on Arsenal winning the league last season would have returned a nice bit of betting profit, so we thought we’d write an early betting preview for Arsenal’s 2023/24 season to see if we can find some early betting value and some interesting bets.
Obviously the first bet we’ll look at is the Premier League title winners for next season. You could easily argue that Manchester City should be favourites again to retain the title, with their seemingly limitless resources, but the odds of 4/7 are not really appealing, nor do they do Arsenal justice. However, with the online bookmakers being so tight on Manchester City, it does leave some betting value on Arsenal to win it. Depending on which bookies you look at roughly Arsenal are 2nd favourites to win the Premier League and if you hunt the best odds, you can find 9/1 with a few bookmakers including Sky Bet, Coral and Betfred. If you are seriously looking at this bet though we’d recommend that you look at placing it each-way so there are some returns if Arsenal finish 2nd. Make sure you check with your bookie before you bet though as although all the bookies offering each-way bets are offering the same terms, 1/3 of the odds for 2nd place, some bookmakers, like Paddy Power, are only offering win only bets at the moment.
One bet that we also like the look of, and although it is short odds, looks like a banker to us, and that’s for Arsenal to finish in the top 4 of the Premier League. This bet would really only suit people who don’t mind having a decent bet running for the season as a fairly large stake would be needed to make it worthwhile, but at 8/11 that looks great value. Currently you can find those odds with William Hill and Betway, and a £200 bet would bring a nice return of £146 profit, not bad if you can afford that stake.
One more bet we like the look of in the Premier League, and it’s more for bragging rights than anything else, is the top London team. Only William Hill are offering odds on this so far but at 8/11 it could be a good bet, and also one to get one over any Chelsea or Spurs fans you know.
Another positive that came out of Arsenal’s last season was that they qualified for the Champions League again for the first time in 7 years. Now, winning the Champions League does seem a little farfetched but we still think there will be some value to be found. Unfortunately, due to this seasons competition still yet to finish, there is currently no betting markets to get stuck into. Once the bookmakers do start offering bets though, we would be looking at finding the best odds on a bet revolving around Arsenal getting to the quarter finals.
Obviously, for most fans, their priority is winning the Premier League, and ultimately the Champions League, but following that most fans would be content to ‘win something’. This is where a bet on Arsenal winning the FA Cup could be an interesting bet. Currently the only bookie offering odds on this is Betway, and they are currently 8/1 which looks like it could be great betting value. As there is only one bookmaker offering odds currently though we would recommend waiting until the rest of the bookies have caught up and are offering bets on this. You can also then take advantage of the many free bets that bookies offer which you can find on free bet websites such as FreeBetsUK, and maybe place an extra bet on Arsenal somewhere.
The final competition where you’ll be able to bet on Arsenal to win is the League Cup, or EFL Cup. Just as the FA Cup above there isn’t yet much of a betting market, but it is one we advise you swerve and don’t bet on. Arsenal’s history of winning this is short to say the least, and we don’t see this changing anytime soon. Their priorities will be firmly putting in a title challenge and also getting as far as possible in the Champions League. The League Cup will certainly not be on their radar and you can fully expect Arsenal to field younger players and some squad players rather than their 1st choice team.
One final bet we’ll look at in this betting preview is a transfer bet, and one that could really excite Arsenal fans. It has been reported that Arsenal are keen to sign West Ham star midfielder Declan Rice and with him almost certain to move on now Arsenal could be an excellent fit for him. Out of all the teams currently linked with Rice, Arsenal makes the most sense, and with that so does betting on it. So, with this in mind, we recommend you head to BetVictor and take advantage of the 4/6 they are currently offering on Rice’s next club to be Arsenal.
Hopefully you have enjoying reading our thoughts and betting tips but please do remember to gamble responsibly. You should also make sure you keep your gambling fun and stick within your limits. Enjoy the season to come, and up the Arsenal!
