Trossard goal

HIGHLIGHT

Paul Hepker: Trossard’s superb technique for the winner. We need players who can deliver when called upon. True impactor.

Dave Seager: Zinchenko’s passing range being able to get our attackers in behind when other methods were failing to breach a determined and well drilled back line.

Dwayne Bingham: A comfortable win at Goodison, we may have only scored one goal but never did it feel like Everton were a threat. Arteta planned for Everton by not gifting them easy corners lofted into their box for their defenders to deal with but opened them up with short corners.

Steve Wellman:  Baby controlling the midfield with another masterful display. Well worth £100m.

Gary Lawrence: Finally getting 3 points at Goodison Park and seeing Mikel Arteta completely negating Sean Dyche’s unentertaining Neanderthal tactics.

Mike McDonald: Discovering how to win a textbook 1-0 game. Defuse the crowd’s energy after they wanted to reset post International break. Pass the opponent and crowd to death so they become frustrated/bored. Patiently wait for opportunities which arose.

Thomas Bahnson: Fabio Vieira showing the level required to be a starter and never looking out of place despite Everton’s physical midfield. His output is top level stuff.

LOWLIGHT

Paul Hepker: Martinelli injury – hopefully it is minor.

Dave Seager: Martinelli being withdrawn. Let’s hope it’s minor and a precaution.

Dwayne Bingham: Gabriel Jesus being wound up by Everton team, although it didn’t cost us we need to be above the extra physicality and mind games which were a ploy to knock us off our game

Steve Wellman: Having to agree with Gary Neville. “That one looks a bit strange, shall we say.”

Gary Lawrence: Seeing Saka once again being taken out after he’d played the ball and getting no protection from the referee. One of these days he is going to suffer a serious injury.

Mike McDonald: Still not looking like we are going to score in the 6 yard box. Need better timing of movement.

Thomas Bahnson: ESR with yet another 0, it just feels like he will leave.

HEADLIGHT

Paul Hepker: Champions League anthem at the Emirates. Shimmering stars on the Centre spot. Goosebump time. I’m sure Arsenal will put on a show, too. Let’s hope we can do the business required.

Dave Seager: Exciting to see more variation and training ground influence on our set pieces and I expect to see more. We have fabulous movement and speed of thought in our attacking players, so let’s play to that as well as seeking to play to our height on corners.

Dwayne Bingham: Setting down a marker with a good win against possibly the hardest team in our champions league group: PSV. Get 3 points on the board and it will give us a good chance of winning group and be good preparation for NLD at weekend.

Steve Wellman: Kyra Cooney-Cross, she will be a game changer for the women’s team.

Gary Lawrence: Looking forward to bursting Tottenhams bubble on Sunday and showing them there is only one top team in London.

Mike McDonald: PSV are going to get it on Wednesday. First big win of the season. Looking forward to seeing some other players involved at different stages. Got a feeling that we see Nwaneri in the squad to replace Martinelli.

Thomas Bahnson: These 5 games 23/24 = 13 pts. These 5 games 22/23 = 12 pts

But everyone thinks we are worse this year. This year we also have 70% possession every game.
