Raya, fire 🔥 An Arsenal blog from a coach’s perspective For some reason in the last week, I’ve had two people ask me who I thought was the best player at Arsenal. I get asked a lot of questions about Arsenal, but that one hasn’t come in quite a while. I had to think about […]
‘Stick it, li’l bro!’ An Arsenal blog from a coach’s perspective Well, here is the first blog of the new season and I give full credit to Max McDonald for the title. I spent way too long thinking of something intelligent to write about in this opening piece, […]
They said it quietly at first, like a superstition you don’t dare say out loud. Then louder, bolder, until it rolled through pubs, group chats, and North London streets like a familiar drumbeat rediscovered: It’s coming home. North London’s throne. Reclaimed. Not the old joke. Not the meme. Not the yearly setup for the fall. […]
Little by Little An Arsenal blog from a coach’s perspective This period of the season is likely to be the most forgettable month. If anything at all, maybe it’s the month of favour. Where Father Christmas showed up and left a few extra presents because he found out that dad was struggling to get it […]
‘A game about yesterday’ An Arsenal blog from a coach’s perspective So that was the most forgettable game of the season. Easily. I’m glad that I was on my Christmas trip to Cincinnati with Lori, spending most of our time pretending that we were 19, whilst hanging out at one of the coolest speakeasies I’ve […]
‘Lovely new things’ An Arsenal blog from a coach’s perspective. A glass half full post. If we won what we want to win this season, and my posts were more glass half empty I’d be embarrassed. Even though there are always needs for improvement and analysis, I think it’s important that we bathe in the […]
I was really struggling to find what the theme was from the Brentford game. I finally landed on how Arsenal are over complicating their attacking style, but you’ll read about that another day because I had an epiphany. I’m always ashamed to say that I haven’t given this enough attention already. My enlightenment started when […]
‘Art in motion’ An Arsenal blog from a coach’s perspective Well, I wasn’t expecting that. There wasn’t much ‘art’ against Villareal and the ’motion’ wasn’t jiving either. The game was littered with tactical nuance, experiments and improvements. Almost as if we had been storing this up for a rainy day, so to speak. ‘Sun on […]
‘Dowman sells Martinelli to get Eze’ An Arsenal blog from a coach’s perspective Most of the time preseason games are instantly forgettable. This one might be remembered forever. It’s crazy to say that. Sounds like a horrific over-exaggeration. What my eyes saw however, was the potential birth of a superstar. Max Dowman has much to […]
If rumours are to be believed, the holy trinity of Arteta, Josh K and Berta are in for no less than three attacking players this summer. A left winger, a central attacking midfielder and a striker are on the list. For arguments sake, let’s call them Rodrygo, Eze and Gyokeres. Now bear in mind that […]
