I have been writing articles and comments exactly on the subject of an article in Arseblog today. I have complained that opposing teams were able to by pass our midfield and benefit from Merteseckers lack of mobility. Even when we had the ball, we had no “out” to Ozil or Sanchez. Ramsey and Flamini were […]
Last year @7amkickoff wrote a piece about how Arsenal are the team to tug at most heartstrings because of the fact that we are one of the last clubs on the planet left with a semblance of honour in our dealings with people. The piece specifically talked about how Arsene Wenger put faith in first […]
A solitary point is rarely viewed as a cause for celebration but given the circumstances that unfolded at White Hart Lane on Saturday, I’ll make an exception. Having seen Francis Coquelin get himself needlessly dismissed and our one goal advantage turned into a one goal deficit within the space of just seven minutes, it is […]
Despite being two of their respective nation’s biggest domestic sides, the upcoming Champions League fixtures between Arsenal and Barcelona has a tad of an inferiority complex about it. The all-conquering Catalans are heavily tipped to brush aside a team who are currently favourites to lift the Premier League crown (according to the bookies). After some […]
Let me get this out of the way first: Arsenal deserved to win the game. Those who say we were lucky to win it are partly right, but saying that without context would not be doing justice to the Gunners. The reality is such: we played Ranieri’s men off the park. We had 78% of […]
Last week I talked about how our targets for next season would pan out if we were to lose the title this season, and as promised in that piece I am back with another question that is soon going to become pretty big in the ultra-divisive Arsenal fan circuit: Do Arsenal need Arsene Wenger to […]
The greatest threat to Arsenal’s title chances, is Arsenal. We seamlessly transition from the stratospheric heights of sublime perfection to the abysmal depths of hopeless ineptitude. When Arsenal fans are knocking on heaven’s doors, they are advised to declare that they support Arsenal. The range of emotions that one experiences as an Arsenal supporter is quite […]
Today’s Sunday Times carries an interesting article by Jonathan Northcroft based on an interview with Paul Merson. He talks about possession, breaking fast and powerfully, and says that Arsenal have conceded possession as a tactic and achieved better results. Arsenal’s worst defeats have happened when they have had what he describes as “heavy possession”. He says […]
We play Chelsea on Sunday and the Blues remain a very tricky opponent for us. We have improved against City and United in the last year or so, but hardly against Chelsea, being held to a goalless draw at the Emirates in April and losing away at Stamford Bridge (thanks to an atrocious performance from […]
Hello and welcome to Stoke City vs Arsenal LIVE… brought to you by Arsenal’s official car and van rental parter Europcar. Arsenal no longer sit at the top of the table as they go into this second away trip on the bounce after overcoming an early deficit to pick up a point in Wednesday’s Anfield […]
