Arsenal 1-2 Brighton: Sometimes, the fans are right [Positive Needs & Hopes]
Sometimes, the fans are right Positives, Needs and Hopes Over the years I’ve wavered as to how I feel about how the impatient modern culture has infected football and fans in particular. I find it true that most people talk in extremes. Arsenal were brilliant. Arsenal are awful. Extreme views are much like sweeping statements, […]
Arsenal vs. Brighton Preview: Time to test our top attacking trio, with Luiz in mid
It’s Freddie’s first home game, and would it be a sound win? Or will it end up as stony as Brighton’s beach? We ended this game 1-1 in the latter part of last season – and arguably this led to Emery’s downfall. Or at the least, it was a major catalyst in fans turning against […]
Ljungberg must restore Arsenal’s battling qualities
With Unai Emery gone, at least caretaker manager Freddie Ljungberg knows what a winning Arsenal team looks like. The Swede made over 200 appearances for the Gunners in a nine-year spell at the club and was part of the ‘Invincibles’ team that won the Premier League title without losing a match in the 2003-04 season. Did Arsenal play Norwich or Arsenal? [Positive Needs & Hopes]
‘DID ARSENAL PLAY NORWICH OR ARSENAL?’ Positives, Needs and Hopes If you could pick the most important need for improvement on the field, what would you choose? I’ve thought about this too much. I think this means I’m sure of what I think. I’d try to improve defensive transitions. I bet I’m not alone. The […]
Norwich City 2-2 Arsenal – review
The first game of the Freddie era has come and gone. And in many ways, it was the more things change, the more they stay the same. Look, I love Freddie. He had red hair, and amongst Henry, Bergkamp, Vieira, Pires, et al., he was arguably our best player in the 01/02 double […]

Going Backwards? I know the original is a song many won’t know, by Depeche Mode (most underrated band on the planet), but the sentiment is spot on. We are not there yet We have not evolved We have no respect We have lost control We’re going backwards Stan is Ignoring the realities Going backwards Stan, […]

Exclusive interview with Arsenal Academy expert on Freddie Ljungberg Well it’s happened Unai Emery has finally been sacked by Arsenal, after a run of 7 games without a win , in form only rivalled by the poor time of the 90s. Josh Kroenke is quoted in the club statement saying it’s down to results not […]
Is the Europa League the Best Route Into the Champions League for the Gunners?
Is the Europa League the Best Route Into the Champions League for the Gunners? It hasn’t been the ideal start to the season for the Gunners, and already the walls seem to be closing in on Unai Emery. His position as the manager at the Emirates is looking weaker with every passing week at present. […]
‘Someone dropped a ladder in the deep dark hole’ – [Positive Needs and Hopes]
‘Someone dropped a ladder in the deep dark hole’ By the time you read this surely he’s been sacked! If he hasn’t then these thoughts will need to be delayed. I had multiple negative titles and thoughts for this blog but I’m quite honestly bored of writing about Unai Emery. I want to be happy […]
