Is Emery’s lack of structure hurting our most talented group of youngsters in years?
I watched our match against Vitoria of Portugal. They are 4th in the Portuguese top league. Not a great pedigree, but good enough to lead us a merry dance for 80 mins when Pepe equalised their second goal. He then went on to score the winner with a last gasp free kick. That was a momentous […]
Arsenal 3-2 Vitoria SC: ‘Pepe lays a rug on Madface’ [Positive Needs & Hopes]
‘Pepe lays a rug on Madface’ Sliding doors moment for Nicholas Pepe and Unai Emery?? For the first 70 minutes I was wondering if Emery’s last real positive was slipping away. We’ve been very good in the EL and yet again we were poor AND poor and losing. Not only has Pepe’s two moments of […]
Arsenal 3-2 Vitoria Guimaraes: Is this the game that unleashes Pepe?
Our record signing Nicolas Pepe got the win here, with two wonderfully executed free-kicks at the death. But overall, it was another limp performance. Yes, we won, and we should be happy with that. And Vitoria Guimaraes was not here to lie down or be the accessory. They pressed us well and passed well through our midfield. However, […]

‘The Points, the Table, the Fixtures or the Games’ Before every game I pick the team in my head. Before every transfer window I pick who I’d sell and buy too. Every once in a while I imagine what I’d do if I was Raul, Vinai and Edu. I sit here tonight thinking about the […]

Mike Dean is the Referee v Sheffield United – Bad News for Gunners?
I think it is save to say that Arsenal fans do not have a soft spot for Mike Dean. The experienced match official has a reputation for being a tad trigger happy with his cards and Arsenal a suffered a few decisions that we might have thought harsh or debatable. Of course, his much discussed […]
Back to the future with 4-4-2: how Emery could transform Arsenal in one easy move…
Assumption #1: Unai Emery doesn’t favor using a player in the hole. Assumption #2: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on the left-wing is a waste. CONCLUSION: Play 4-4-2! It sounds easy and is perhaps a bit simplistic but it’s also very fascinating and could solve some of our problems, especially up high on the pitch. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s best […]
Assessing Arsenal’s next 9 Premier League fixtures and predicting their position in the Premier League table.
Assessing Arsenal’s next 9 premier league fixtures and predicting their position in the Premier League table. Back in 2003-04, Arsenal scaled a seemingly insurmountable peak when they went through an entire league season unbeaten, earning themselves the nickname of the ‘Invincibles’ and pocketing another Premier League crown. However, since then, the Gunners haven’t managed to […]
