In the news today:
Kevin Gameiro, 24, is a name on the forefront of several Premier League clubs’ transfer targets. The Frenchman has been linked with Newcastle, Tottenham and Arsenal in recent weeks, and the Daily Mail report that £15m would see the striker come over the English Channel.
Gameiro has been prolific this season for his club, L’Orient, earning him his first full international caps under Laurent Blanc.
With Marouane Chamakh making a similar move from Bordeaux to Arsenal last season, fans remain cautious that it could take Gamerio a while settling in.
Season ticket holder, Paul Grant said: “I’m not sure Wenger will spend £15m on a striker. He needs to strengthen the back four more than anything. With Chamakh coming over from France last year, it would be a bit of a shock to see Wenger make the same move again, especially if it didn’t pay off.”
Take a look at the Frenchman in action here. What do you think?

Looks like a player blessed with pace , technical abilities and good finishing skills .He likes to player on the defenders shoulders and make runs in the channels . Looks like a good buy and hope Wenger can turn him into a foward wide player like David Villa does for Barca . I cant see him playing the lone striker in the EPL but if Wenger plays him with RVP and one more wide forward player then Arsenal can score from every angle with the three rotating around RVP .At least he has an eye for goal unlike Chamakh .
It's not the same case as Chamakh. Decidedly more pace and ease in the box. Also, I really think Chamakh deserves another chance. Few players enjoy top form and play their best on their first season in England. I think Chamakh in his proper shape can take some weight off of the likes of Walcott, Arshavin, Nasri or Gameiro (if he ever be a Gunner). He never was a super-striker (50+ goals in 230+ games in Ligue 1 is proof enough), and he shouldn't be. Gameiro is a completely different story.
If he comes to arsenal, hope he can keep his desire to shoot at goal and not let them teach him to pass, pass, pass it to death.
This would represent a big signing for Arsenal; a pacey and skillful striker, better than Chamak.
I personally think Chamakh deserves some sort of credit. When there was no Van Persie, No bendtner, Chamakh carried the burden of a lone striker on his shoulders & did a really decent job. For somebody who is new to the gruelling epl, we should appreciate him.
