Arsenal want new ‘Invincible’

In the news today:

The Daily Mail report that Arsenal and Spurs are in a joint race to sign Colombian star, Radamel Falcao. The Porto striker has been in fine form this term, netting 16 league goals as the Portuguese side replicated Arsenal’s ‘Invincibles’ of 2003 by going unbeaten in the league all season.

The South American also netted a phenominal 17 goals as his side romped to the Europa League title, following victory over their league compatriots FC Braga.

With a reported 26m release fee in his contract, Falcao would be a club record signing for Arsenal should he make the move to the Emirates, but the newspaper suggest that the fee is not putting Wenger off.

The former River Plate striker has been offered a new deal at the Portuguese champions but with offers on the table from right across Europe, it’s widely expected that he will leave the club this summer.
