England international tempted by Gunners

WTTGT Writer: Simon Bourne (Site Editor) – Follow Me

In the news today:

sportsvibe.co.uk report that Arsenal are mulling over Newcastle midfielder, Joey Barton as a possible summer signing. Barton is on a long list of speculated names, but his combative nature, undoubted talent and unsettled Newcastle future could see Wenger sneak in.

Barton is thought to be unhappy with the transfer of team-mate and club captain, Kevin Nolan at Newcastle, and with contract issues seemingly stalling, a move to a team playing Champions League football would surely tempt the England international.

He told Sky Sports News last week: “I don’t want to leave Newcastle, my family’s settled in the area, I’ve got a great working relationship with everybody at the club.

“But if someone came in and, hypothetically, offered me Champions League football, whether I’d signed a five, six or seven-year deal at Newcastle, I’d have to consider it.”

“the day we sign this thug is the day I … “

    1. Start believing Wenger should go.
    2. Start booing one of our own players.
    3. Start worrying every time we have a training session.

Barton is everything Arsenal isn't. He's nasty and rubbish and slow and dirty and a scumbag. He's hateful.

With Barton in the side we'd also have to resurrect training 10 v 11.

It doesn't work on any level. We'd go from a team to be proud to support to one to be embarrassed about.

Can you imagine this piece of fetid rat's excrement kissing the Arsenal badge?

    Over his dead body.

If signing a player makes you stop supporting a team then your not a real fan who loves Arsenal… Dont like the player but support the team

Joey is not Arsenal type and though we need a “dirty” player, its not him. He is such a thorn in the eye

I'd rather be beside Barton when the going gets tough than pussys like Diaby, Denilson and Rosicky. This is football not a study on urban sociology.SIGN HIM UP. And if he arrive's be afraid Diaby and co. very afraid. Up the Gunners!

spot on irish gooner… barton is a true fighter, leader, and is wat arsenal lack.. wenger bring him in. im tired of watchin arsenal gettin pushed around on the field with diaby, denilson and the likes lyin down and takin it. we need someone to start screamin at players on the pitch.. I would love barton at arsenal, absolutly love it. wenger is spot on with this one.

and the fans who say otherwise are the ones who cry about havin english players wit fight and steel in there tackles and now we can get one for next to nothin and yas arent happy. spoilt bunch of babys who throw there dummies out of the pram everytime ya dont like wat ya hear.

If barton comes to arsenal he will go straight on the back of my shirt and i will support him all the way.

I'd love to revisit this when Barton slams home a goal from the edge of the box (while everyone's running about sideways) and Arsenal lift something…

Ian Wright, Tony Adams* both served time (albeit for lesser offences, however* 27 times over the limit could well have killed someone)… just saying.
