In the news today:
Gary Cahill has been rumoured to be an Arsenal target for the best part of a year. The England international is thought to have already been the subject of an Arsenal bid earlier this summer, but to date, nothing has progressed further than that.
The PFA’s website, GiveMeFootball.com report that The Gunners could be about to make Bolton an offer of £17m, plus Ignasi Miguel and Henri Lansbury in a bid to woo Cahill south.
It’s not reported whether or not this would be a loan move, or a permanent deal, however Owen Coyle has enquired about the two young Arsenal stars.
Lansbury, who last season won promotion with Norwich from the Championship is keen to play Premier League, first-team football so if his chances at Arsenal are going to be limited, it is expected that he’ll leave.
Miguel on the other hand, one of several captures from Barcelona’s youth academy, impressed last season during his few outings in the first-team, but it largely untested at Premiership level.
is this going to be a loan deal if not i will tell wenger to stop and give others the chance
It has to be a loan deal, you can't just start shipping off our young prospects. Also Cahill still isn't worth 17m.
If there is even a shred of truth to the rumour then it has to be a rumour. 1. Lansbury is worth at least 2-4Mil and Ignasi is rated very, very highly at the club. Was made reserve captain last year. There is no way we would sell him plus Lansbury and 17M for Cahill that is just crazy!
How annoying would it be if Ignasi went on loan and we signed Cahill only for Ignasi to be better than him next season?
