In the news today:
Uruguay’s Copa America star, Alvaro Pereira has emerged as one of Arsenal’s top targets to replace the departed Gael Clichy.
The Porto defender had been linked with Liverpool after they missed our on Clichy respectively. Another interested party appears to be Italian giants Juventus following Luca Maurelli’s (agent) comments after he said to Lisbon based newspaper, A BOLA: ““The player could be good for the Bianconeri by virtue of his ability to play over the entire left wing. Right now we have registered interest from Arsenal and Liverpool. But, he would fit very well in at Juventus under Antonio Conte.”
Porto paid around £4m for the Uruguayan in 2009 from up-and-coming Romanian side, FC Cluj, following spells in his homeland as well as Argentina.
He has 34 caps for his country and is known for his attacking abilities.
