In the news today:
sportsvibe.co.uk have reported twice in recent days that Arsenal are interested in a €35m deal to sign Bayern Munich star man, Bastian Schweinsteigher (27).
The German is arguably Bayern’s marquee player, but having played in the Champions League qualifier against Zurich on Tuesday night, therefore cup-tied in Europe, a move is highly unlikely.
Unlikely, though, does not mean impossible as Arsenal fans well know, and further rumours are circulating in the German media of Arsenal’s interest. Sport Mediaset suggest that Wenger is preparing his bid in the next couple of days.
Arsène Wenger said only yesterday: “We are short in midfield at the moment and that is where we want to strengthen,” which possibly suggest the Frenchman’s main concerns.
Schweinsteigher’s future at Bayern has been cast in doubt following Franz Beckenbauer’s slating of the German and his captaincy of the club – so the German may well seek a transfer.

_bayern would never sell him as they are in a strong financial position and very ambitious.
