Uzmanov won’t be joining the board

Arsenal’s chief executive Ivan Gazidis has said that Alisher Usmanov, the club’s billionaire investor won’t be joining the board.

Usmanov almost owns 30%, once he hits that magical number he will be entitled to access the club’s account.

A key obstacle as Usmanov tries to increase his stake, is majority shareholder Stan Kroenke who does not want any other help running the club, even though his rival will be happy to provide Arsene with mighty war chest.

It would be great to see the club spend money bringing in some big-name players but we shall see if Kroenke changes his mind.
