Serge Gnabry may be the next player to come through the ranks at Arsenal.
The German youth international is trying to follow in the steps of Jack Wilshere, Wojciech Szczesny and Keiron Gibbs in trying to force himself into the first team at the North London Club. The winger possesses great pace, and is extremely direct, sound familiar? Of course it does, Wenger himself compared him to two wingers already at the club:
“He is in the category of Oxlade-Chamberlain and Walcott – guys who have great power, great pace and good dribbling skills.”
Gnabry is only 17-years-old, but has already had a run out in the Capitol One Cup (can’t believe I actually had to look up what an English competition was called these days), and was on the bench last week against Olympiakos. 2012/13 may be his breakthrough season, but it was the performances of last season that brought him into contention.
Just look at this kid go.
