It is no secret that this Sunday’s North London derby is a huge clash with many connotations.
Not only has the rival between Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur intensified over the past few years, due to one’s rise and the other’s decline, but a place in the Champions League is also on the line as well as the bragging rights.
Now it is possible that both these sides could finish in the top four and qualify for next season’s European elite competition, but that is by no means any sort of guarantee.
While the Lane has become a more difficult place in recent times to pick up points, the Gunners have still netted some beauties when on enemy territory.
So without further ado, here are a pick of the best Arsenal goals at White Hart Lane over the past decade or so.
Emmanuel Adebayor
Spurs 1-3 Arsenal
September 2007
He may be perhaps Arsenal’s most hated enemy at the moment, but Manu was once the cream of the crop at times for Arsenal.
This fantastic goal from the Togo international not only won the match for the Gunners, but also helped to put us at the top of the Premier Leauge.
Let’s hope he doesn’t repeat this Thierry Henry-esque strike on Sunday.
Cesc Fabregas
Spurs 1-3 Arsenal
September 2007
It may have come during the same clash as the Adebayor strike, but that doesn’t mean that Cesc Fabregas’ netbuster is not further of a place on this list.
With the game level at 1-1, the Spaniard took this ball from the edge of the area, and unleashed an unstoppable rocket into the top corner with 10 minutes to go.
Pure class from Fabregas.
Robert Pires
Spurs 1-1 Arsenal
November 2001
It’s hard to believe that this goal took place over a decade ago now, but it is still a strike that Gooners will never forget.
The legend that is Robert Pires ran onto to the loose ball and, first time, curled home a 25-yard shot that screamed its way into the corner of the net.
The game may have finished 1-1, but this goal will live long in memory of Arsenal fans.
