Lukas Podolski’s club career has been very much played out in a yo-yo like fashion and it seems that his spell at Arsenal is shaping up to be another down, with The Metro reporting that the German could be heading for an unexpected exit this summer following a breakdown of relations with Arsene Wenger.
When the signing of Podolski was announced the majority of people thought Arsenal had pulled off quite a coup and the player actually settled in pretty quickly to life at the Emirates, however over recent weeks he has struggled to get into the first team squad in recent weeks which has prompted rumours of a rift.
Podolski at times has struggled to transfer his international football form to club football, most notably during his spells with Bayern however his actual record of eight goals and nine assists in 26 games is not exactly poor in your debut Premier League season.
With that in mind the lack of game time is strange and you can’t help but wonder what Podolski has done behind the scenes, particularly when you consider that the Gunners have struggled with injuries and it is not like their other strikers have been pulling up tree’s. From the noises made in The Metro it sounds like Podolski is keen to repair any sins he has committed, only time will tell though if Arsene Wenger will be as ready to move on.
