Wilshere Could Leave Arsenal

ESPN is reporting that ex Arsenal player Perry Groves has dared to utter the words that no Arsenal fan dare utter “Jack Wilshere could leave Arsenal”

Groves who endeared himself to the Highbury faithful with his committed if limited style of attacking play has now risked their wrath by suggesting that if the clubs trophy drought continues next year, Wilshere might depart.

The ginger haired flyer who was George Graham’s first signing at Highbury stated, “If they don’t win anything Jack might think about moving on.”

As has been well documented, Arsenal have now gone eight years without silverware, (notwithstanding the fine Emirates Cup successes of 2007, 2009 and 2010) and Groves point Is that a player of Wilshere’s talent will soon be wanting medals to go along with his ability.

The fact that Arsenal have in recent years made a habit of selling their better players means that supporters are entitled to feel a little anxious the longer the barren run goes on.

Wilshere himself has made no noises about leaving Arsenal and is regularly quoted reaffirming his commitment to the club and its manager. Gunner’s fans will hope this loyalty remains and that he stays to lead the club into a new era of glory.
