Arsenal to be beaten to signature of Bayern Munich star Luiz Gustavo

Another week gone by, another week
without a transfer. Patience is the most hated word among Arsenal fans at the
moment and if you asked me it will be until the 2nd of September.

We
need to strengthen in many departments and one of them defensive midfield. Lot
of Arsenal fans see Bayern Munich’s Luiz Gustavo as the perfect fit. It’s no
secret that Munich are open about a Gustavo deal. Munich director Karl-Heinz Rummenigge
said Gustavo could leave if the price is right. Munich’s squad planning will be
complete even if Gustavo is going to leave. So much about the will to keep a
player. And Gustavo himself made clear that anything could happen before the
end of the month.

As
it seems something is happening as we speak. Wolfsburg contacted Gustavo’s
manager about three weeks ago. Now the contact gets intense. As Wolfsburg,
Allgemeine, Zeitung and kicker magazine report today, Munich and Wolfsburg are
in advanced negotiations about a deal. As I have said for weeks it seems as if Gustavo
will end up with the Volkswagen team. Even though Wolfsburg are not
participating in Europe this season. As it’s reported there are other teams in
the mix and more offers on the table. One of them from England. As it’s
reported it seems to be Chelsea with a £13m offer.

Arsenal
totally out of the race? I’ve always said that I’m not a big fan of his but
let’s face it, we have got ourselves into a miserable situation again. So as a Lars
Bender deal is out of reach at the moment I would take Gustavo. But to be
realistic, there’s no sign that we are in any kind of way involved in this
transfer. So as much as it’s repeated that we will sign, Gustavo won’t be one
of them.

Another
rumour that popped up yesterday was our interest in bringing free agent Ciprian
Marica to the Emirates. It seems to be only agent talk as the source of this
rumour was based in Marica’s field.  As I Tweeted yesterday such a deal
would be the ultimate suicide. I think it’s just a stupid rumour. But the
question is have we come this far that agents see us as a possibility to up
their clients interest? I got the feeling as we act like school boys when it
comes to transfers.

Whatever!
As everyone is injured at the moment I injured my thumb today. I will hand in a
transfer request tomorrow.

Regarding today’s
Ilkay Gundogan rumours, I can assure you that we are not in for him and we
won’t sign him. Why you ask? That’s simple. First he pointed out more than once
that he is in negotiations about a new contract and wants to stay at Borussia
Dortmund. Secondly, BVB simply won’t sell. They don’t need to and they don’t
want to. Jurgen Klopp managed to compensate the loss of Mario Gotze. He won’t
accept any offer for one of his most important Players in midfield. So get back
to normal and get him off your list.

Cheers
