Arsenal Football Club is not Championship Manager, leave Arsene Wenger alone

The
FarSideView – That’s when we all win

This week’s edition of The
FarSideView is a bit of a mash up and a bit of a muddle. Please accept my
apologies in advance.

It’s
partly a piece I started a couple of weeks ago (and never really got around to
finishing) and partly inspired by a three-word Tweet last Thursday.

Firstly: The Championship Manager Generation

Championship
Manager season is in full flow and this summer season seems to be the best yet.

Twitter
is a great media for speaking shite with other Gooners globally, any time, day
or night.

Without
it I wouldn’t be blogging.

Without
it I wouldn’t have meet my fellow Australian Gooners.

But,
Twitter is also the curse of ‘The Championship Manager Generation’. The
sub-class who, after a three-day session of FIFA 13,  jump on Twitter,
list players they’ve just signed to win the quadruple in their first season and
blast the board and Arsene Wenger for not following their lead. They have got
to get their heads out of their arses and be a bit more realistic.

In
the fantasy football world, signing players is simple.

                1. Identify a need.

                2. Identify a player.

                3. Place a bid.

                4. Player signs.

                5. Arsenal win the Champions League,
the league, the Super Cup…

In
the real world, it’s more complicated.

                • What if the player doesn’t want to
sign?

                • What if the club don’t want to
sell?

                • What if the price the selling club
want it’s just ridiculous? and with all knowing about the ‘War Chest’, prices
go up!

You
can’t force players and clubs to do your bidding…

I’m
as frustrated as anyone by the lack of signings and yes, I’m sure we could of
approached this all differently, but we are, where we are.

What
happens if we can’t sign anyone in the next week?

What’s
the point in bitching and moaning from your tablet and booing from your seat
for the next four months, it won’t help.

Support
the team, it could be all we’ve got.

I
also read of ‘supposed’ Gooners wanting Arsenal to keep losing, to ‘Prove their
Point’.

Well,
quite frankly, FCUK OFF

No
true Gooner would ever want The Arsenal to lose.

No
matter what.

You
are not welcome!

Get
on the bus back to Middlesex and sod off where you belong, sitting on Dante’s
basement level 9.

We
all want top players, but sorry, not at the cost of Arsenal!

Secondly: A three-word Tweet

Simples
really, the press hate us, fans hate us, managers hate us, well, pretty much
everyone hates, we know that and we don’t care.

Arsene
summed it up last weekend, when responding to the rabid hacks in the post-match
press conference.

“You
got what you wanted, you should be happy. Before the start the season that was
all you write in the papers so what do you expect?”

The
last two results won’t change their view, just give them an excuse to find
something else to beat Arsene and Arsenal with.

As
Chad Kroeger (sorry, I know Nickleback) said;

“We
must stand together

There’s
no giving in

Hand
in hand forever

That’s
when we all win

That’s,
that’s, that’s when we all win

That’s,
that’s, that’s when we all win”

TheSundayMorningGooner:
That’s when we all win

I
hope you enjoyed/understood my ramblings.

If
you did, please follow me @wellmington and the rest of the @GunnersTown team.
