And so it began……
Alex Iwobi and the new formation
JK Hornsby has announced a new series of books, this time plotting the footballing education of a Nigerian born teenager, living in North London.
The series will chart out the boys rise through the ranks from Arsenal’s youth team, his selection for the Nigerian national team an ultimately his integration into the first team.
Sources of mine, back in the UK, have managed to get hold of a copy of the final installment; ‘Alex Iwobi and the New Formation’ and have sent a summary of the story-line.

In the final book of the trilogy, the Arsenal are, again, under the influence of the dreaded ‘Injury Curse’, cast by the dreaded ‘Kane Toad of Totteringham’ and they have to call on the services of Jay Jay Okocha’s nephew to break the spell and reinstate order across the lands of North London.
The story tracks Alex’s initial cameos in the Emirates and Milk Cup, his key roles in the FA Cup and then his growing influence in the Premier League.
The final chapter starts with the Arsenal having 8 games to play and Professor Wenger having to make a season defining decision;
Go for broke or play safe and hope it works out for the best.
In an unusual turn of events, the Professor decides to go for it, picks Alex in his best position and changes the formation to accommodate him

The New Formation
Unfortunately, my sources couldn’t send me the rest of the novel, so we will have to wait til May to find out what’s happens to Alex, Professor Wenger and the rest of The Arsenal.
