Out with the Ozil and in with the New
Ignoring recent paper talk of Mesut Ozil telling his team mates he’s joining his former boss Jose Mourinho at Manchester United, one thing is clear…Mesut Ozil is leaving.
Where Ozil will be playing next season is anyone’s guess which many a paper will try. For me personally I’d like to see how he gets on with the ultra-tactical game in Italy, maybe for one of the Milan teams.
For Arsenal they must look to the future and who can fill the creative void left by one of the most technically gifted players to grace the Premier league.
Looking at possible replacements for me there is one outstanding candidate who has a great first name may I say, Colombia international, James Rodriguez. Currently on loan at Bayern Munich from Real Madrid, but importantly asking to end his loan following Carlo Ancelotti’s sacking.
Rodriguez, 26 is facing an important part of his career, will he be an also ran at Real Madrid, in the shadow of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale etc. or will he move to a club where he will be the main man? Having played 144 games in all competitions and having a combined total of 93 goals and assists he has a higher game contribution average than Ozil and the other targets being linked.
Playing in a style reminiscent of Santi Cazorla before he turned into the Arsenal’s traditional hospital patient. James Rodriguez has it all, vision, dribbling skills, long range passing and shooting skills, as well as an athletic style that would be perfect for the Premier league.
There are many names linked with Arsenal right now, be that Thomas Lemar, Riyad Mahrez or Angel Di Maria but if Arsenal want to improve they should go for “El Diez” (The No. 10), Rodriguez to replace their “number 10”.
I got into football as a kid watching Italian football in the afternoons and ever since I’ve been hooked on tactics and the continental side of the game. I’ve written about Italian football in the past among other things but now it’s time to write about, the embodiment of how I see the beautiful game, Arsenal. Hopefully writing things and opinions about the game you haven’t seen before, I like a bit of a joke too.
He’ll be a perfect signing.
In your dreams maybe…
We ate not releasing him@ Bayern
He hasn’t asked to leave at all lol. Jupp has said he’s in a difficult position but he wants it to work. His advisors are telling him to stay – stop making crap up, it’s embarrassing.
Plus the way ozil gets slated no matter what he does, why on earth would anyone join? You don’t provide a suitable setup for that type of player to thrive and with all due respect, Arsenal are unlikely to make it back into the champions league.
