The truth is out there
A number of so called Gooners out there have got very despondent with Monday night’s defeat and, bizarrely, some have questioned Mikel’s ability as a coach and his ability to attract big name players.
To all of these naysayers I simply say…..
Jog On !!!
Mikel inherited a broken ship, with no leadership and no road map.
In 6 months he has installed belief and put together the plan to get us up to the level we need to be challenging at the business end of the season.
The players believe in him and most importantly trust in his method.
Also, in a mid-covid, non owner investment world, he (and Edu) are doing their utmost to unload the dross and upload the talent we need.
Micky and Hector explained the masterplan:
“We had our moments, they have different weapons, they’ve been together 5 years. We are in a different moment of our journey. They weren’t able to do that 3 or 4 years ago, or 2 years ago. But you can see the standards are this, this is where we have to reach.”
“I think when you build a new identity, a new way of playing football, it’s not something that happens overnight. It’s something that takes a lot of time. It takes losses, it takes wins, it takes a lot of learning.”
Put simply:

English by birth, Australian by choice. Traffic Engineer, Arsenal ST Holder, Sun DreamTeam Winner, Writer on @GunnersTown, Depeche Mode, Welcome to my world…
Whistling past the graveyard.
Lets see where we are on Nov 1st and then Jan 1st.
Win you stay, lose you go.
Lets hope for the best. Jog On…
What you say Steve is pure common sense. There has been more than enough evidence in the short time that Arteta has been here to show that he has a plan and a method of carrying it out. The defence has gone a long way to steadying the boat. He is showing signs along with Edu to get rid of those players who were simply sub-standard. We have a collection of top class youngsters coming through and the significance of that is that he will end up with a team of newcomers joining several top class experienced pros along with his selections from the youngsters. The team he will have by the end of the season will be his team, shaped to play good football and to be hard to beat.
If we get Parte and Aouer and they are as good as the papers say they are, then the 21/22 season will be something exciting to see, so please moaners save your bile until then. Even Klopp would noy have been any further with his team in less than a season.
