Ten Takeaways from Arsenal’s Triumphant Top Table Return

Raya and Arteta

  1. I don’t think Raya is a better goalkeeper than Ramsdale but I do think he’s a better stylistic fit for Artetas philosophy.
  2. Saka hasn’t had a slow start to the season, 6 g/a in 6 games tells the story.

  3. If only people looked at Havertz as a pure CM he would be hailed as a perfect fit for the system instead of being ridiculed for missed goalscoring opportunities.

  4. Something has truly clicked with Vieira. You can see it in every single game and movement.

  5. Yesterday was proof that ESR is on the same wavelenght as the team. There’s no risk in playing him.

  6. Arteta’s actions > Arteta’s words

  7. Partey isn’t the single point of failure anymore. We have the strongest DM group in world football.

  8. Jesus and Zinchenko are yesterdays news but they are still the two most important players for our most fluent game.

  9. There’s no better time to enter a NLD at the Emirates. Solid but not in spectacular form (keeps us hard working). They are in their own words in great form (false sense of their shortcomings).

  10. That CL game was a statement in itself. We may be newcomers but make no mistake, we are no underdogs.

If we knew the Champions League was this easy, we would have qualified many seasons ago.

On a serious note, Raya offers calmness to the defence and his actions are without fuss.

The whole team responded to the challenge of playing in the Champions League well and the substitutions with a NLD in sight means we are in a good position as a team.
