WERE SUMMER DECISIONS TOLD IN SPRING? Positives, Needs and Hopes Were Summer transfer decisions told to the players in Spring? This is an educated guess, not knowledge…… What happened after the Napoli tie? Such an impressive result against a very good opponent and then a total 3 game collapse. I don’t think it’s too far […]
‘WHO STOLE THE JUMPERS?’ Positives, Needs and Hopes One of Unai Emery’s very first soundbites was, “We want to be protagonists!” I’m glad he wants to be as all fans love attacking football but we are protagonists only every once in a while. Personally, I would not have made this statement without the individual […]
‘THE £100 MILLION UPGRADE’ Positives, Needs and Hopes I’ve decided to not cause myself any further pain. It would be super easy to go in two footed on that selection and performance but no doubt you’ve read that over and over already as it’s 35 minutes after the final whistle and that’s all I’ve read. […]
The Unspoken Illumination’ – Positives, needs and hopes! Personal improvement has never been and will never be headline making. (unless you are Pep perhaps!! I was watching the game last night and suddenly I was struck by the absent headline of the ‘New Arsenal.’ It was just after AMN confidently breezed past Insigne on […]
‘4 points, 2 points or none’ POSITIVES, NEEDS and HOPES I have no interest in working at FIFA. Well, I might take a medium sized bung then take a sabbatical to Montego Bay for 30 years! I also don’t think that they should change the 3 points for a win system. It’s fine. When I […]
Have we found the Firestarters? POSITIVES, NEEDS and HOPES What’s the fastest way to create belief in sport? Occasionally, you support a team who are so mentally strong that they make you mentally strong too. Most of the time though we arrive at the ground/turn on the TV and hope. I think the fastest way […]
‘The Absent Solution’ POSITIVES, NEEDS and HOPES I made a prediction back in December that we would fall short this season. I’m not in the slightest bit interested in being right. My thought was based on one big missing link. Arsenal lack ‘individual brilliance’ on the dribble. We are very capable of collective brilliance (last […]
‘The Birth of the Future’ POSITIVES, NEEDS and HOPES I’ve been waiting, wondering and hoping that we were going to get this performance. If you read often you may have got bored of my ‘need’ for Arsenal to play at a quicker tempo in the final third, the need for 1 touch to become a […]
‘Balance, Belief, Better…… Buzzing!’ POSITIVES, NEEDS and HOPES Balance Squad balance and in-game balance doesn’t come quickly and we are impatient. Have you noticed that it may well have arrived? Amongst the litany of change on and off the field it has been lost that Arsenal have a very balanced squad, age wise. I looked […]
‘The Unacquainted Twins’ POSITIVES, NEEDS and HOPES Have you ever met people who should know each other, perhaps they are essentially the same, but look like they have never met? I introduce to you Arsenal 2018–19! ‘Good Arsenal’…. Shows up one in three. An intense team with laser focus that starts finishes and does […]
