So… after links to Boateng, Lemar (deja vu??) and rumours of Auba leaving, we finally ended up with Cedric Soares and Pablo Mari as loaned defenders. Soares has PL experience with Southampton and won the Euros with Portugal and the GOAT (Ronaldo) in 2016. Pablo Mari was in the recent CWC final with Liverpool, […]
When you know the Coach is good Positives, Needs and Hopes Besides good results, how do you know if you have a good coach? Clues are found in various places. a) consistent effort. b) game winning alterations. c) bad runs of form don’t last. d) understanding of importance to build team based on their qualities […]
The true gift of Arteta is that he has given us back a TEAM I took a break from Arsenal match attendance over Christmas and New Year for personal reasons, but I am raring to be back in Block 31 on Saturday for the visit of Sheffield United. The reverse fixture was the day I […]
Arsenal in February (part 2) Tactics, Improvements and Innovations How incredibly weird this season is. Fans started the summer happy for a sabbatical as Arsenal had upset us in April and May. We then got excited as Edu returned. Then we panicked, got angry, #wecaredoyou, then we got a handful of shiny signings. Started slowly but […]
BETTER WITH ARTETA Arsene Wenger once said “Confidence goes down by the lift and up by the stairs.” It’s fair to say before Arteta’s arrival confidence was down in the deepest, darkest basement with no stairs even visible. And yes, kings of the capital city, since they’ve both won major trophies in recent history – unlike a certain football club in the Borough of Haringey. Chelsea -as they did […]
The 65th minute on December the 10th Positives, Needs And Hopes In my lifetime I cannot remember a more obvious sliding doors moment since Lehmann got sent off in the Champions League final. That’s a long time. Prior to the 60th minute I was seriously considering the short term future of the club. It’s hard […]
“We are all humans, we all have emotions, and sometimes it’s not easy dealing with them. It’s time to lift each other up, not to push each other away. We only win when we are together.“ These fantastic words are just a well constructed, diplomatic and compassionate way of trying to help, to defuse and […]
‘The Unnecessary Self Destruction of Unai Emery’ I wonder if anyone in Unai Emery’s circle will ever sit him down and tell him the truth. As and when he leaves Arsenal somebody needs to tell him that he blew up his own birthday party. Last Spring many wanted a rest from Arsenal. In a short […]
