Wilshere may not be the Answer to All Arsenal’s Problems but he certainly does to add to them
My 7-month stint writing for weekly for Football London is over and my house move is behind me so you will hearing more from me back here on GT. There are a few subjects on my mind, most of which have been discussed ad infinitum so the end of the summer transfer window closed to […]
Suffering Arsenal: is Gooner Apathy Cruel or Merciful Release?
Cruelty or mercy? During J.K. Rowling’s recent BBC TV adaptation of her book Strike: A Cuckoo’s Calling, there was a line that sums up many an Arsenal fan’s plight right now. As the one legged Private Detective Cormoran Strike drunkenly lamented a story to his secretary about how he lost his leg at war in […]
I will miss the Ox – Will you?
I will miss the Ox Ox’s introduction to the Liverpool faithful, in his new Liverpool kit, and made at the England camp hurt me. He wanted to leave, granted. And it’s understandable how he wanted to move. But it bothered me since it’s a waste. Emergence When he arrived, he was the next big thing, […]
Mesut Ozil vs The Ex Arsenal Pundits
Mesut Ozil vs the pundits Recently, Mesut Ozil put out a lengthy statement in regards to criticism ever since he joined the club four years ago. In the statement, he mentioned that ex-players should not criticise, but instead support the team, and since then pundits have bitten back. Was Ozil right to “out” pundits? The […]
Why it should be ‘Kroenke Out’ and not ‘Wenger Out’ – As the Former brings the Latter Anyway
Trouble at the top Firstly, it’s been a long time since I have written anything about The Arsenal, so many thanks to the guys at Gunners Town for at least entertaining the idea. While some people are happy to create those huge threads on twitter, I am much happier putting pen to paper, as it […]
Troubleshooting Arsenal: You Have A Virus, Please Update Wenger OS Immediately!
Why did Wenger change? The recent defeats have made me more pensive about our club than usual. I have said I am Wenger Out for some time here, but then I guess it’s part of my personality and my own vocational experience to be analytical. I have often been involved in roles requiring problem-solving/organisational operations, […]
Boo The Arsenal? Wreck The Stadium? Include Me Out.
Since the end of the transfer window there have been calls on social media for supporters to show their displeasure at the club’s handling of the transfer window by making a protest at the next home game against Bournemouth. Some of the ideas put forward include boycotting the game and walking out after 29 minutes […]
Onwards and Upwards – What’s in store in Gunners’ Europa Draw
Europa League Teams Preview In the wrestling world – the WWF – there is a championship belt called the Intercontinental title, it’s been deemed the secondary title in the company. Throughout history although viewed as a secondary title, it was also known as “the workers title”, in other words for all the steroid infused more-style-than-substance […]
Transfer Window Post Mortem: Top 6 Grades and Predictions. (Sorry Gooners!)
The transfer window has now shut, and this is a summation of how we did relative to our rivals. CHELSEA Positives – Shut out Costa, who clearly didn’t want to play for them again – Morata – Bakayoko Negatives – Confusion with the board and Conte on signings – Not enough possibly compared to other […]
Transfer Post-Mortem: Arsenal in Shambles On and Off the Pitch
I’m writing this as the transfer window has just closed and Arsenal have ended up with a £17m profit. For a club of Arsenal’s size, with I believe the 5th largest turnover in World football this is a pretty shocking state of affairs, as much smaller clubs like West Brom, Brighton, Bournemouth, Watford and Huddersfield […]
