Italian press suggest Eto’o deal

WTTGT Writer: Simon Bourne (Site Editor)

In the news today:

According to footylatest.com, reports are surfacing in Italy that former Barcelona hitman, Samuel Eto’o could be in for a shock move to the Emirates. The Inter Milan forward was a target for Wenger in 2009 when he eventually joined the Italian giants, but it’s now being reported that he is back in for the Cameroonian.

There are no fees being touted at the moment, but if Eto’o does make the move to England, it would represent something of a coup for Wenger.

It could also spell the end of failing strikers, Nicklas Bendtner and Marouane Chamakh who have had less than perfect campaigns this season.

30 years old with his best years behind him. Doesn’t get me excited at all it shows no ambition…..oh yeah it's an ACN season coming up too, terrible idea!

Chamakh is not a failed striker,he hasn't been given the chance and maybe we should say that after next season

I didn't say his "years are over" as you put it, i said his BEST years are nearly behind him. At 30 years old to take up a fresh start in the EPL is asking a bit too much and yes i've seen him play this season and he's been good. Do you think this is ambitious? Buying Falcao is ambitious, testing 'Madrids resolve with an actual bid for Benzema is ambitious, hell, offering something for Neymar is ambitious but taking on Samuel Eto'o at 30 is not.

C'mon you'd really rather Neymar than Eto'o? I thought people wanted us to start by proven, experienced players not more 19 year olds with the physiques of 14 year olds.

i think at 30 eto is to old for us, what happened to bringing a young side thro……we need central defenders and defensive/attacking midfielders and if we dont get them this summer im thinking this is gona be another trophyless season for us this coming season……………if that happens then who do we ship out next summer?………Van Persie Vermaluen or perhaps the board will look for a new manager…………………..lets hope this dosent happen but come on guys we need to get back in the winning frame again………..
