In the news today:
Arsenal’s long standing transfer target, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is set to seal his switch to the Emirates. The Southamption Daily Echo say that £10m will prise the talented young star north, following on in the footsteps of current Arsenal man, Theo Walcott.
Chamberlain has received outstanding reviews this season for his performances in the red and white of Southampton, and really blossomed under the leadership of manager Nigel Adkins. At just 17 years old, he has also received his first England U21 caps despite playing in the third tier of English football.
Many pundits and analysists have suggested that it is too early for the teenager to move, feeling another season at Southampton would aid his development before sealing a big move. But with other clubs circulating around the yongster and his name becoming more prominent in across Europe, Wenger must act fast if he is to seal his signature.
What do you think of Arsenal’s next big thing?
uh uh…..Again an underage! why don`t we a least for once go for experience? We already have better teens at our disposal. Wenger please heed my advice and invest that 10m on a mature guy.
i think arsene we need to be sack like anceloti cos i think teen is not the play gunners need this, gunners need player like Etoo, falcao, melo and sambal or cahill…..if fab want to go release him to go. advice to mr arsene.
A Fantastic buy, if indeed we do get him. He plays much older than 17. I Believe he will be pushing for a place in the first team really quickly.
Yes he is young, and yes, we do need some expeienced heads, but we have to look to the future too.
You all dont get it do you?
We will always buy young, fullstop.
That said AW knows NOW he has to also buy some established players, who more likely
will be passing through, as all big stars do. He now has the money after 6 years of good
economics, and will spend now.
The youth have to be bought, realise this.
