Taking the Tweets: Wilshere #swipeatspurs

Jack Wilshere – #notsosubtledig

Jack Wilshere has weighed in on the issue of Tottenham’s battle to keep Luka Modric out of Chelsea’s grip.

An Arsenal lad through and through, Wilshere couldn’t help but take the opportunity to point out Tottenham’s failure to reach the Champions League Tweeting: “Don’t see all the fuss about Modric wanting a move…he has done well at Spurs but he needs to play Champions League in my opinion”.

I doubt any Arsenal fan will be upset to see Wilshere taking a not too subtle dig at their North London neighbours; perhaps Abou Diaby should take note of such loyalty and burn his beloved Spurs shirt.

Robin Van Persie – #worriedaboutrobin

Arsenal’s stars need their summer holidays to regain fitness and rest weary legs after a hard season; however one can’t help but worry about serial crock Robin Van Persie’s latest hobby.

While enjoying his time in the sun, well earned after enduring the dreary British weather, Robin decided to hit the ocean on a jet ski.

Most fans would agree that, with such valuable feet at risk, seeing the star striker lounging on the beach would be a far more comfortable image.

Alex Song – #hopeyouareright

While much is being said about Arsenal’s first month fixtures against Liverpool and Manchester United, the opening fixture away to Newcastle on August 13th, could be the greatest cause for concern.

Last season’s implosion at St. James’ Park, throwing away a 4-0 lead to draw 4-4, is unlikely to be forgotten any time soon by the Arsenal faithful.

The point was not missed by midfield enforcer Alex Song who Tweeted: “We will keep it at 4-0 next season”.

Having been injured for that catastrophe last season, Alex is hoping to put things right on the opening day this time around.
