Following the announcement late yesterday that Kyle Bartley had committed himself to Arsenal with a new long-term deal, the defender has today left the club to join Rangers on a yearlong loan deal.
The Manchester born defender, 20, had a spell in Scotland last season and obviously did enough to impress new boss Ally McCoist to encourage the Scot to resign Bartley.
The defender earned positive responses from Arsenal supporters following a miserable Emirates Cup at the weekend, and it may come as a surprise to some that Wenger has allowed him to leave when the Gunners are yet to sign another centre-half.
Nevertheless, Bartley will be hoping to play more games than his solitude five appearances for the Gers last season after cutting short his spell in Scotland due to injury.
