We Want More.
The decision to pull out of the proposed European Super League was right but it was also late, too late.
Pulling out of it doesn’t make things right, we want more.
We Want More.
The damage to our reputation and image was done already and the consequences of such a reckless decision will last for a long time.
KSE and the board of directors are guilty of selling the Club and the fans, sacrificing them on the altar of greed, and pulling out doesn’t make things even.
Had we been the first to pull out, perhaps I could have considered it as a genuine sign of repentance but it’s quite blatant that we simply followed the wave that Chelsea and Manchester City started.
I would have loved for the board, the Kroenkes’ or any official representative of the Club to come out and speak some sense, but they all remained silent.
One statement to announce the participation in the European Super League.
One statement to announce the withdrawal.
The first statement wasn’t even signed, the latter was signed as “The Arsenal Board”.
We Want More.
We want to see the people responsible for this betrayal facing consequences for their mistakes. Vinai resigned from his seat at the ECA as we joined the ESL, what happens now? The Arsenal is no longer represented among the European Clubs Association and our voice will not be heard. KSE showed their true colors and proved beyond any reasonable doubt that they’re ready to sell the very soul of the Club in the blink of an eye, without even realizing the magnitude and repercussions of their decisions.
KSE were entrusted with the prestigious role of being custodians of the Arsenal Football Club but failed miserably and when we asked for an explanation, they remained silent.
Through this very same silence, KSE confirmed that they are profoundly ignorant about the values of the Club and therefore should step aside – silently, of course.
Stan Kroenke, Josh Kroenke, Tim Lewis and Vinai Venkatesham should resign from their roles and the Club should be sold to someone else, someone who truly aspires to be a custodian of our football Club.
We Want More.
We want an owner who understands the Club, its value and its traditions.
An owner who would not consider supporters only as paying customers but as stakeholders.
An owner who would listen to the voice of the supporters and their concerns.
An owner who would truly care for the Club and its results on the pitch.
An owner who would take responsibility for their decision and not hang up to dry their employees.
We want more than KSE and the Kroenkes’ – We deserve more.
Italian living in Switzerland, Gooner since mid-nineties, when the Gunners defeated my hometown team, in Copenhagen. I started my own blog and podcast (www.clockenditalia.com) after after some experiences with Italian websites and football magazines. Covering Arsenal Women with the occasional rant about the boys.
I totally agree but KSE have no reason to sell up, the fans may hate them but I don’t see a billionaire selling a profitable business
Erm…profitable? They have had 3 straight years of big losses. The valuation of the club has gone down over that time.
