The One Hundred
Just feel gutted about Saturday’s result, we didn’t deserve the decisions, we didn’t deserve the result, but we do deserve constant referees and we do deserve consistent use of VAR.
We also passed a milestone; Gabriel became the unenviable 100th Gooner sent off in the Premier League.
So, here is my homage to The One Hundred.
It began in August 1992,
When the Premier League was shiny and new
Red card number 1
Was Nigel Winterburn
And another 99 came by Jan ’22
Now Paddy, he played pretty hard
And for that he received 8 red cards
Most Wenger didn’t see
And he often would plea
His opponents were never that scarred
With 6, came a man we all cheer
Averaging 1 red card every 2 years
His name? Martin Keown
And strikers were shown
Whoever you are, ”I have no fear”
With 4 and 5 respectively
Come Adams and Koscielny
2 more centre backs
Who stopped forwards in their tracks
And dealt with them efficiently
Next on the list, Granit Xhaka
Who does have a tendency to clatter
In 5 years quite feat
Cos if he’d stayed on his feet
His 4 cards would have been that much lower
Then come the players who have 3
Phillips Senderos and Giles Grimandi
Mighty Sol Campbell
And the ponytailed Emmanuel
And with that look of shock, it’s David Luiz
12 players registered red cards of 2
So I thought I’d mention a few
Giroud and Wilshere
Mertesacker and Silva
And the underrated genius Abou
Obviously, a lot are out there with one
The likes of Cazorla and Alex Song
Matthieu Flamini
Surprisingly Wrighty
The list just goes on and on and on
Gabriel was number one hundred
And just in case you had wondered
11 under Arteta
Let’s hope things get better
Cos with 10 men progress will be blunted
