Mikel Arteta and the Dark Arts

It was Mikel’s first day at The Emirates School of Shithousery and Skullduggery and he couldn’t wait to get started on learning the ‘Dark Arts’.

He picked up his timetable and the first lesson of the day was ‘Tactics and Psychological Strategies’, taught by Professor Ferguson.

Professor Fergie was a bit old school, but was world renowned for his intimidation tactics, especially on referees.

This was followed by ‘Discipline and Clever Game Management’ overseen by Professor Pep. The synopsis read, “Utilising time-wasting tactics, strategic fouling, and manipulating referee perceptions to protect players and maintain control of matches”

Mikel was definitely going to enjoy this subject.

The final lesson of the day was the one he was most looking forward to, Professor Wenger, teaching ’Mental resilience and tactical cunning’, and Mikel knew anything Arsene had to teach was going to give him the knowledge to be able to blend his skill with Wenger’s shrewd strategies.

Mikel knew that this was definitely going to be a great year.
